Stupid Labels

A see-through packet of pre-washed grapes I bought from Tesco, for example, has on the back:
Ingredients
Grapes (100%)
And then...Suitable For Vegetarians
I don't know if this is a government rule, or just the supermarkets being overly cautious, but surely there is not one vegetarian who needs to be told what they can and can't eat!
The same message is also found on loaves of bread and chocolate cake.
